What Did “Joe” Look Like?

The nearly complete skeleton of “Joe” allowed, for the first time ever, a relatively accurate reconstruction of the appearance of a baby Parasaurolophus. Using information on the skeleton and soft tissue impressions, artists produced restorations of “Joe”‘s life appearance. Note the slight differences in the artist’s renderings below. Although both are scientifically accurate, details such as color and the amount of muscle mass remain within the realm of artistic license.
